TEENMUSE
Description: TEENMUSE grew out of several conversations
on MUSEUM-ED about high school students working in museums.
As museum studies and the "museum professional" continue
to evolve as specific career paths, and as the teenagers
of today grow up into the museum audiences and employees
of tomorrow, it is increasingly important that young people
be involved in various capacities in museum volunteer, membership,
educational outreach, and internship programs. How are the
needs of this group--educationally, socially, vocationally--best
served? How can they serve the needs of the museum? While
anyone concerned with museums is welcome, all participants
on this list are required to contribute to the dialogue.
Possible future plans for this conversation include a session
at AAM or other relevant conferences. The list is currently
dormant.
