Introduction
This bibliography is by no means complete or definitive.
Instead, it is a work in progress. Kim Smith, with
the assistance of staff at the UNESCO-ICOM Museum
Information Centre has prepared this brief bibliography
on the theme "Museums and Indigenous Peoples" from
materials in the Centre. Staff are aware that many
initiatives, activities, events and meetings have
been held on this theme which are not included in
this bibliography. We would like to have your assistance
to expand this bibliography. It would greatly benefit
the Centre if you would draw our attention to references
that are missing and that should be added. If your
National or International Committee has discussed
this topic and produced papers, we would very much
appreciate receiving this information. Your assistance
will enable the Centre to do its International Museums
Day project: produce a comprehensive bibliography
on museums and indigenous peoples.
